Belize Bruce first set foot on Belize soil in the March of 1993. He had left Boston in a blizzard and upon emerging from the airplane at the Phillip Goldson Airport in Belize City, he still remembers that steamy blast of tropical heat that greeted him. A few weeks later, Belize Bruce had a life changing moment while mailing a box of hammocks back to the States that would keep him coming back to Belize again and again.

After several more trips down, and during another blizzard in January, 2004, Belize Bruce decided to drive back down to Belize and was offered a job building a eco-resort in the southern District of the Belize. After many wild adventures during the drive, overcoming break downs, seeing the sights, meeting new (and old) friends all over the States and through Mexico, Belize Bruce finally arrived.

During the resort build, Belize Bruce figured out the proper procedures to obtaining the many needed permits, whom to contact (and how to find them), how not to pay too much, buying & selling land, obtaining Residency and Citizenship, setting up Belize LTD Corporations, where to buy goods & materials in Belize & Guatemala, how to get stuff shipped down from the States, when (and how) to pay the bribes, and many other useful things necessary to ensure successful living and operating a business in Belize.

More importantly, he experienced how the jungle operates firsthand while living deep in the rain forests. Belize Bruce also lived with the Kek Chi Mayan, in addition to the East Indains, Creole (Kriol) Garifuna, Mestizos, Mennonite, and the various other cultures that are living in Belize today. Using his previous wilderness knowledge experience of teaching primitive technology skills at his Virtual Mountain Wilderness School, he expanded his naturalist skills to encompass both the jungles/rainforest of Belize plus the depths of the vast Ocean with hundreds of scuba dives along the 2nd greatest barrier reef in the world.
